SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Many things are becoming increasingly expensive, and youth sports are not immune to that, unfortunately. We know that we have families and athletes who need assistance. We are proud to say that we work hard as an organization to partner with local businesses, big and small, to ensure that any child who wants to play can have the opportunity to and know that they can reach for their dreams and aspire for greatness!
Because of the generosity of members, businesses, and other do-gooders, the BAHL can provide a Youth Scholarship Fund. If you need some financial assistance, please apply using the link below.
What does the Youth Scholarship Fund offer?
- Up to a maximum of 75% financial assistance with registration fees.
- Gear assistance.
If I have applied before, can I apply again?
- Yes.
Can I expect to get the same amount or more?
- No, not necessarily.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TRAVEL VS HOUSE HOCKEY?
TRAVEL
Focus: Higher level of competition, with a goal to compete at regional or even national levels.
Cost & Commitment: Significantly higher financial costs and time commitment for families due to increased travel and more frequent practices.
Playing Time: Playing time is not guaranteed and may be shortened, especially in certain situations, with coaches shortening the bench.
Travel:Requires travel to games and tournaments outside the local area, sometimes involving overnight stays and significant time spent on the road.
Skill Level: Typically features higher-skilled players.
HOUSE
Focus: Teaches the fundamentals of hockey in a fun and supportive environment.
Cost & Commitment: Lower financial and time commitment, with fewer required hours on the road.
Playing Time: Often provides equal playing time to all players, regardless of skill level.
Travel: Games and tournaments are played locally or within a manageable driving distance.
Skill Level: Open to players of all skill levels and is considered an entry-level opportunity.
While there are difference between the two programs, they also follow the same priniciples of USA Hockey for age structure, coaching, and many playing rules.
