Equipment 101

Full protective equipment is required to play ice hockey. BAHL players must wear a black helmet.

Player GearHelmet, mouthguard, neck guard, pads, gloves, pants, shins, socks, skates, stick.
Goalie GearMask, mouthguard, neck guard, chest, blocker, catch glove, pants, knee pads, leg pads, skates, stick.
10U HabitDress independently for games and practices, minus skates.

  • Cup or pelvic protector, also called a jock or Jill
  • Hockey pants, also called breezers or shorts

10U Player Expectation

  • 10U players are expected to dress themselves for games and practices, minus skates.
  • This includes putting on all gear, strapping pads securely, and being ready to play.
  • Learning to dress independently builds confidence, responsibility, and teamwork.

Rentals & Jerseys

  • Play It Again Sports handles rental gear and jerseys.
  • Rental gear is available for every level.
  • Registration asks whether a new jersey is needed.

Family Cost Planning

  • Jerseys, socks, personal equipment, optional apparel, and team gear are separate from the base program fee.
  • Check Equipment 101 before buying gear so every required protective item is covered.
